Portfolio for NVQ Teaching Assistants
Building a portfolio of evidence will show how your performance, knowledge and understanding meets the NVQ standards.
Evidence
You will need to gather evidence, which will be presented in a file, to prove your knowledge and performance and this will mainly consist of:
- Assessor action plans/candidate feedbacks
- The assessor will give you copies of these at every meeting to show your progress and actions needed.
- Personal accounts
- This should be an account of actual situations dealing with pupils in the context of the unit
- Observation
- Your assessor will visit school and observe you working with individuals or a group of pupils
- Witness Statement
- From a teacher or work colleague who is confirming what you did
- Professional Discussion
- Talking about your knowledge and understanding relevant to the unit
- Questioning
- To cover any standards that the assessor feels requires more evidence
- Product evidence
- Lesson plans, work products, etc.
Please note - no pictures or names of children should be included due to the Data Protection Act/Child Protection Act
