Completing 7 units will give you a Level 2 NVQ for Teaching Assistants
The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) have defined a Level 2 qualification as follows:
- Denotes competence in a significant scope of varied work activities performed in a variety of contexts.
- Some of the activities are complex or non-routine, and there is some individual responsibility or autonomy.
- Collaboration with others, perhaps through membership of a work group or team, may often be a requirement.
The candidate must take some responsibility for his/her actions and would report to a named person within the school (normally the class teacher).
- 7 unit qualification
- Candidates must achieve all of the mandatory units (units 001 to 004) together with any three optional units (units 005, 006, 015, 016 and 022).
- Candidates can progress from Level 2 to Level 3 if the candidates work role allows him/her to perform a task to demonstrate competence at the appropriate level.
