Mission Statement
To promote and deliver high quality learning that reaches out to all adults and focuses on equality, inclusion, diversity and support.
The College seeks to achieve this mission by promoting the core values held by the college.
In summary, the college believes:
- In promoting an adult education service which is responsive to the needs of adults and is attractive to adults because of its strong social and supportive adult environment.
- That a specialist adult education service with specialist staff and facilities, supports adults to reach their full potential.
- That the interests of students come first.
- That the best interests of adult students are served by the employment of staff who are experienced and well qualified and by staff who are given opportunities to develop both personally and professionally.
- That all adult education is of equal value regardless of whether it is formal, informal or whether the initial motivation is perceived to be vocational or non-vocational.
- In providing learning opportunities which span:
- Family learning
- Skills for Life
- Vocational skills
- Knowledge acquisition
- Education for social participation
- Preparation for entry to higher education
- Education for leisure and recreation
- In developing a diverse curriculum that appeals to all and that this is the best means of promoting initial access.

- That collecting student opinion is the way to maintain and improve the quality of learning
- In maximising access to education for adults by removing all barriers, particularly those associated with race, gender, age and disability
- In treating all members of the community according to need.
- That adult education is a player alongside other services, agencies and groups that work enhance the quality of life
