Short Course – Counselling

Counselling short courses give an introduction to counselling skills.

The Adult College also provide a range of short level 1 progression courses which complement our other courses:

  • Counselling Skills: For Working with Adolescents (OCNW 'START')
  • Counselling Skills: For Working with Bereavement (OCNW 'START')
  • Counselling Skills: For Working with People who Self-Harm (OCNW 'START')
  • Counselling Skills: For Working with Hurt and Anger (OCNW 'START')

For short courses we require an 80% attendance with session one being compulsory

We also offer a range of complementary courses such as:

  • Psychology of Bereavement
  • Social ethics and values
  • Working with Difference and Diversity
  • Expressive therapies

These courses run for 18 weeks and written assessment is required. You will also need to keep a portfolio of your work.
