CENTRA course give you a nationally recognised counselling qualification.
Counselling Skills Stage 1 (CENTRA Concepts)
This 30 hour level 2 course provides an introduction to person-centred counselling skills and the fundamental attitudes and values which underpin them. Students have the opportunity to develop some practical listening skills and reflect on their own and others feelings, experiences and developments on the course.
(80% attendance is required for this course). This course is offered in the day, evening and at twilight.
Counselling Skills Stage 2 (CENTRA Skills) level 3
This 150 hour level 3 course provides opportunities to develop practical and academic skills and deepen theoretical understanding of person-centred counselling.
This course will be of value to those working in professional fields such as nursing, teaching, social and community work. It also provides the skills and qualification needed to progress on to the Diploma in Counselling.
This course is offered in the day, in the evening, and as an afternoon/evening. We offer a fast track option in addition to the longer year long course. Residentials and weekend workshops are an integral part of the course.
(80% attendance is required for Counselling Skills)
Students wanting to undertake Counselling Skills Stage 2 should have satisfactorily passed Counselling Skills Stage 1, or have gained some experience of counselling in a voluntary or work related capacity.
