CENTRA course give you a nationally recognised counselling qualification.
Counselling Skills Level 2 (CENTRA Concepts)
This 30 hour level 2 course provides an introduction to person-centred counselling skills and the fundamental attitudes and values which underpin them. Students have the opportunity to develop some practical listening skills and reflect on their own and others feelings, experiences and developments on the course.
(80% attendance is required for this course). This course is offered in the day, evening and at twilight throughout the year.
Counselling Skills Level 3 (CENTRA Skills)
This 150 hour level 3 course provides opportunities to develop practical and academic skills and deepen theoretical understanding of person-centred counselling.
This course will be of value to those working in professional fields such as nursing, teaching, social and community work. It also provides the skills and qualification needed to progress on to the Degree in Counselling.
This course is offered in the day or evening, starting in September. The course is also offered as a full-day 'Fast-track' starting in January.
All learners must attend a weekend residential as well as some Saturday workshops.
(80% attendance is required for Counselling Skills)
Students wanting to undertake Counselling Skills Level 3 should have satisfactorily passed Counselling Skills Level 2, or have gained some experience of counselling in a voluntary or work related capacity.
