GCSEs
Many training and Degree courses now require applicants to have GCSEs in English and Maths, and often Science, grade C or above.
The College offers a range of GCSE options:
- Pre-GCSE English and Maths
-
These courses are suitable for learners who are not yet ready to undertake GCSEs but want to prepare for them. The courses are FREE and learners can join at any time during the year. Learners can stay on the course throughout the year but are usually expected to complete at least one term.
-
These courses start in September and continue until June.
- GCSE (fast-track) in Maths
- This course starts in January and continues until June.
Learners need a good level of competancy in the subject to undertake a fast-track course (perhaps from recently undertaking a GCSE but only getting a grade D).
Learners doing fast-track courses are entered for Foundation level GCSE and can gain a grade C maximum.
Pre-enrolment interviews are required for all the above. To arrange an interview, telephone (01524) 60141.
