Lancashire Adult Learning offers a wide range of courses, at various venues throughout north Lancashire, including Lancaster, Fleetwood and Preston, which enable people to gain skills and qualifications to help them enter/re-enter the workplace

Working Towards Employment

  • Weekly Drop-in Workshop
      An opportunity for people to get support with CV writing, Interview Techniques, Job Search using the Internet.
  • Working Towards Employment: this course is broken up into 4 week modules:
      Preparing for Employment
      Applying for Employment
      Gaining Employment

    Students can start at the beginning of any module. Pre-enrolment advice and guidance interview required.

  • First Step courses which provide a basic introduction to different types of work:
      Introduction to Working with Children
      Introduction to Office and Admin Skills
      Introduction to Retail
      Introduction to Working for the Public Sector
      Introduction to Customer Care
      Introduction to Team Working

    Lancashire Adult Learning also offers a range of complementary courses such as:

      Confidence Building
      Confidence for Personal and Career Progression
      Working with Stress and Relaxation
      Stress Busting Techniques
      Re-inventing Retirement (for people seeking paid or voluntary work after retirement or redundancy)
