- Creative Writing For Pleasure OCNW Level 1 Start
- Suitable for beginners or those with some experience who may want to improve their skills. A range of stimuli will be used to develop creative pieces, mainly poetry and short stories. You will be able to produce a portfolio of work.
- Creative Writing OCNW Level 2 Stage A
- Stretch you creative skills in a supportive but challenging environment. Various writing activities will be undertaken in class, with the opportunity to develop longer pieces in your own time. Suitable for beginners or those with some experience who want to develop their writing skills. Assessment is by coursework and portfolio.
- Creative Writing OCNW Level 3 Stage B
- Participate in a wide range of writing activities in various genres. A substantial portfolio of work is built up by a combination of class activities and extended pieces undertaken outside class. Students will not only develop writing skills but also critiquing skills to apply to their own work and others. Assessment is by coursework and an end of course set piece.
Qualification Descriptions
- OCNW Level 1/START
- courses are short introductory and specialist courses of up to 10 weeks duration.
- OCNW Level 2 Stage As
- are an equivalent level to GCSEs but are shorter in length. Assessment is by portfolio and written assessment.
- OCNW Level 3 Stage Bs
- are an equivalent to A2s (previously A Levels). Assessment is by written assignments, projects and end of year exams. Level 3 courses are intensive and demanding in terms of time, commitment and skills.
- Study Skills
- are an integral part of the access to HE programme. Classes and workshops are held throughout the year to help you with reading for your course, writing essays and preparing for tests and exams.
