Identifying Routes into University and Making Career Choices
- Maths GCSE Equivalent OCNW Level 2
- This course is suitable for anyone wanting to gain their GCSE Maths equivalent qualification for work or career enhancement, or for the personal challenge. If you were put off Maths at school, why not give it another try in our adult friendly supportive classes. Assessment is by coursework and end of year exam.
- National Certificate in Adult Numeracy
- Would you like a national qualification in Maths to reward your success? The National Certificate in Adult Numeracy is a multiple choice question test, similar to the driving theory test, which is available to anyone over 16 who does not already hold a maths qualification (e.g. GCSE). Getting a qualification will:
- Give you confidence in your own abilities.
- Help you get onto some further courses of study.
- Provide evidence of your skills to go on your CV.
- Show employers what you can do.

Qualification Descriptions
- OCNW Level 1/START
- courses are short introductory and specialist courses of up to 10 weeks duration.
- OCNW Level 2 Stage As
- are an equivalent level to GCSEs but are shorter in length. Assessment is by portfolio and written assessment.
- OCNW Level 3 Stage Bs
- are an equivalent to A2s (previously A Levels). Assessment is by written assignments, projects and end of year exams. Level 3 courses are intensive and demanding in terms of time, commitment and skills.
- Study Skills
- are an integral part of the access to HE programme. Classes and workshops are held throughout the year to help you with reading for your course, writing essays and preparing for tests and exams.
