- Drug Use and Misuse OCNW Level 2 Stage A
- Explore various aspects of drug use and misuse. This course will be of particular interest if you work in areas such as teaching, youth and community, social and health care, where a background, knowledge of drug issues is required. Assessment is by coursework and portfolio.
- Drug Use and Misuse OCNW Level 3 Stage B
- A more in depth exploration of the causes and effects of drug use and misuse, as well as consideration of the various methods of treating and responding to this very current social issue. Students should have successfully completed the level 2 stage A course or have significant experience of working in the field of drug use and misuse. Assessment is by coursework and end of year exam.
Qualification Descriptions
- OCNW Level 1/START
- courses are short introductory and specialist courses of up to 10 weeks duration.
- OCNW Level 2 Stage As
- are an equivalent level to GCSEs but are shorter in length. Assessment is by portfolio and written assessment.
- OCNW Level 3 Stage Bs
- are an equivalent to A2s (previously A Levels). Assessment is by written assignments, projects and end of year exams. Level 3 courses are intensive and demanding in terms of time, commitment and skills.
- Study Skills
- are an integral part of the access to HE programme. Classes and workshops are held throughout the year to help you with reading for your course, writing essays and preparing for tests and exams.
