Identifying Routes into University and Making Career Choices
- Psychology Intro to OCNW Level 1/START
- An introduction to the study of human behaviour and a chance to consider why we do what we do. Assessment is by class work and a portfolio.
- Psychology OCNW Level 2 Stage A
- Examine the ways psychologists look at human behaviour, personality, how we develop phobias, memory and relationships. Assessment is by coursework and portfolio.
- Psychology OCNW Level 3 Stage B
- An opportunity to study psychological perspectives in depth. Topics covered include social and cognitive psychology and will refer to the research undertaken by leading psychologists, such as Jung, to investigate and understand human behaviour. Assessment is by coursework and end of year exam.
Qualification Descriptions
- OCNW Level 1/START
- courses are short introductory and specialist courses of up to 10 weeks duration.
- OCNW Level 2 Stage As
- are an equivalent level to GCSEs but are shorter in length. Assessment is by portfolio and written assessment.
- OCNW Level 3 Stage Bs
- are an equivalent to A2s (previously A Levels). Assessment is by written assignments, projects and end of year exams. Level 3 courses are intensive and demanding in terms of time, commitment and skills.
- Study Skills
- are an integral part of the access to HE programme. Classes and workshops are held throughout the year to help you with reading for your course, writing essays and preparing for tests and exams.
